Thank you Thursday #4

It’s everyone’s favorite time of the week THANK YOU THURSDAY! This week was a biggie, thank you all soo soo much. Not just for your donation, but for your support. So many people have been so kind and caring asking me how I’m doing, encouraging me when I’ve had a bad day, and for just believing in me that I really can accomplish this goal. It has really just meant to much to me and taught me a lot about the people and the support system that I have around me. Okay enough of this “soft skill” stuff and let’s get to the good stuff…Here we go (btw the list is alphabetical by first name)

AWESOME PIC OF AMY! I love FB!

Amy Stone: You know that person at work that you are just absolutely positive that the building would collapse and all work would stop if this person didn’t show up? Amy Stone is that person at my company. Amy keeps the “Pro” running smoothly, send Amy an email and you are guaranteed to get a response within 20 minutes (note to self: ask Amy for e-mail tips). Not to mention that she is a kick-ass runner!  Amy has run Boston before so I’ll be thinking about her as I make that 26 mile trek and hoping that I can become a member of the “I’ve run the Boston Marathon” club as well. Not only is she a kick ass co-worker, a fun person to be around, and an awesome athlete, she also makes her own apple sauce, who makes their own apple sauce?!?! Homemade applesauce… now that Mr. Sheen, is WINNING! Thanks so much Amy for the donation

Gabriel Keith Jones

Amy and Jeremy Jones: This couple JUST got a fantastic addition to their little family. The little addition’s name is Gabriel Keith Jones. If Amy can make a donation days before giving birth, what’s your excuse? As I am writing this on Sunday night Gabriel is not even a hour old yet and I CANNOT wait to meet the little guy. Amy was also perhaps the cutest pregnant lady on the planet. I’m still not convinced that she didn’t just keep a basketball under her shirt the entire time, because the girl did not gain an ounce anywhere else except her cute little belly. However, I have to say I am kind of glad that this pregnancy is over because any time I ever offered to do something nice like carry something or tell Amy to go home because the snow was bad she would give me this terrible look and say “I’m only pregnant! I’m not handicapped, I can do whatever you can!” Now I’ll be able to offer to do nice things without being accused of being a “pregnancy-ist”, as in one who has a chauvinistic belief in the inferiority of  pregnant women. This couple is a ton of fun to be around and I know that now will their newest addition they’ll be even more fun! CONGRATULATIONS GUYS and thanks so much for your donation.

Hot Stuff

Bill Sinagra: There are days when work is absolutely crazy and so nuts, BUT no matter how wild and crazy it gets I always remember that HCPro has brought some of the most phenomenal people into my life and Bill Sinagra is one of them. Billy is fantastic, smart, generous, caring, single man (gentleman pay attention) who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Unfortunately Bill left “the Pro” for the land of Harvard Business Review, where just as he did at the Pro, he has been dazzling them with his online marketing skills. Bill and I have kept in touch and I am forever grateful for that because he is just so wonderful and also because he’s the only friend who I can call and seriously ask if he wants to go to a speed reading class with me and he’ll say yes and not laugh at me. Thanks so much Billy!

Little Gap Kids Models

Emily, Kevin,  Sam, and Lexi Sheahan: This family is  too cute for words. I work with Emily at “The Pro” she is often the source of my most painful stomach ulcers, as she is my main “internal customer” and this woman knows what she wants, and you don’t want to be around when she doesn’t get it. (Just kidding…kind of)  Em and I have a ton of fun working together and she is often times the one to keep me sane and on occasion, slap me in the face to bring me back to reality when I have lost my mind. One of our favorite hobbies was to pick on Mike, a.k.a. my work husband until he divorced me. Emily is partially responsible for this crazed marathon mission that I am on, since she was the one to kick off my competition obsession by signing me up for my first triathlon last July. Most importantly though Emily and Kevin have two kids who are just about as awesome and as cute as you can get. Sam is a savant of all sports just like his dad. The kid can tell you any team’s record, what time their next game is, what position each player holds, and maybe the over/under too. I’m still a little unclear on whether or not her’s running his own book at recess, but time will tell. Lexi is perhaps the sweetest, cutest, and  most innocent looking little girl I’ve ever met, but it’s all a front. This girl knows what she wants and will schmooze with you until she gets it and she knows exactly what to tell you. Not to mention that Lexi can work an iPhone better than I can and loves to show me family photos on it when I come over! It kills me not to take either of them home with me every time I hang out with this family. Thanks for all the support and the donation guys!

This is one busy family!

Lee, Michael, Collin, and Kyle Frucci: Lee and I also work together at “the Pro” and have been working more closely together over the past 12 months on an e-commerce project that I am pretty sure has brought out the best of me at times and the worst of me during a few other times. However, as we begin to get closer and closer to the launch date I think that I can confidently say that Lee and I have made it through, and some day we’ll look back at all of this and say that it wasn’t so bad. Lee’s two growing boys, Kyle and Collin, keep she and Michael busy, running from karate, swim lessons, cooking sessions, and poetry readings.  Their art work is proudly displayed in mom’s office and I have to say I think that they are some of the best decorations and poems that I’ve seen at the office. Thanks so much for the donation and support guys!

My John Denver Partner

Lindsay Stephenson and I have been friends since I was just a wee young freshman at Regis College. One of the early items that bonded Lindsay and I pretty quickly was our shared love of John Denver. Although, one could also say that our shared love of John Denver also made it pretty difficult for most anyone else to ride in the car with us. We sang Rocky Mountain High at the top of our lungs on random trips to Dunkin’ Donuts to procrastinate from getting any actual work done (just kidding Mom and Lindsay’s Mom we worked very hard the entire 4 years). Lindsay is a Virginian debutante through and through who can wear a string of pearls and a preppy outfit with the best of them and then two minutes later, pound a beer, put you in a headlock, and make you beg for your mother. She is a ton of fun to be around and recently a basketball league has allowed me to see Lindsay almost every week and for that, I am really grateful. Thanks so much for the donation Linds!

The Happy Couple

Vanessa and Chris LaMalfa: Vanessa a.k.a. “the Ice Queen”  and I started at “the Pro” just one week apart from one another. So every year we have a joint anniversary celebration together, awww how cute. We have been friends for 6.5 joyous years two of which we spent sharing an office. My good friend Mike Phelan designated Vanessa with the “Ice Queen” nickname because unfortunately for the first year of her tenure at “the Pro” Vanessa would not speak to anyone except Andrea “the Sherm” Sherman.  As time went by, little by little my charming personality was able to melt even “the Ice Queen’s” thick layers and find the incredibly funny, very intelligent, little celiac that lived underneath that frozen abyss. Once she came out of her shell though, there was really no turning back. Sharing an office with Vanessa was really fun except for the times when she would say things to me like “Going to 7/11 to find a new officemate.  Need anything?”  I know harsh isn’t it? However, there were some really great days like one day when I arrived to work only to find that “the Ice Queen” and “the Sherm” had placed a 4 foot tall, 85 lb. Santa behind my desk to look like he was working. Santa even came with a note written in perfect calligraphy. In September, I was lucky enough to be invited to Vanessa’s wedding to a man that couldn’t  be a better match forVanessa. Chris is just as fun to be around, loves high fives, is really funny, and spoils his new bride so much. He has made a great addition to our little “Pro” family. Thanks guys for your donation and support!
