A money Monday moment just for you…
- March is colon cancer awareness month. Colon cancer is the third most common cancer found in men and women in the U.S. Thanks to higher rates of patient screenings that catch the disease early, death rates from colon cancer have declined over the past 15 years.
- Making a donation is a win-win. You help the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the Jimmy Fund, and me and you get a tax write off for 2011 at the same time.
- March is also kidney cancer awareness month. The most common type of kidney tumor in children is Wilms’ tumor. About 500 children, mostly between two and four years of age, are diagnosed with Wilms’ tumor each year.
- I just ran 19 miles on a treadmill, if I can do that then YOU can reach into your pocket and make a donation.
- Dana-Farber does not just treat cancer they treat cancer patients and their families. Check out these helpful resources that Dana-Farber has for cancer patient caregivers: http://www.dana-farber.org/pat/support/cancer-caregivers/default.html
